Medical Procedures: Thorough evaluation of individual skin care needs

Peels (Light or Micropeel)

Light alpha hydroxyl peels are very popular, as they permit the patient to experience a glow to the skin that is usually evident after only one or two appointments. This program may include a technique known as dermaplaning, sometimes referred to as micropeel, and will be offered when indicated. A maintenance program is available and encouraged.

Vitalize Peel

The solutions used in this Peel incorporate salicylic acid and retinol. This is a very effective peel for those patients interested in a little more aggressive epidermal peel. Expect 3-7 days social down time.

Parisian Peel

(Microdermabrasion “Safe & Gentle Peel”)

A non-invasive non-chemical peel which can be done as part of total skin care. This peel involves the use of a special “lite sanding” machine which provides epidermal abrasion. Usually offered as a series of 6.

TCA (Trichoricidic Acid) Peel or OBAGI Blue Peels

Medium depth peels. Deeper than a micropeel series with longer recovery time but will do more for brown spots and superficial wrinkling. These are performed under the supervision of a plastic surgeon. Expect 7-10 days social down time.

IPL for Reduction of Unwanted Hair

Our “state of the art” laser for hair removal will enable fast and thorough reduction of unwanted hair. This procedure is spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart for maximum benefit. 6-8 treatments are sometimes necessary, but our patients report seeing reduction in the first 2-3 visits. Consider the following areas for treatment:

Bikini, Legs, Upper lip, Under arms, Back Chin

Laser / IPL

Intense Pulse light laser is used for the reduction of vascular lesions (rosacea or sun damaged veins of the face), pigmented lesions (dark “sunspots”) and for collagen remodeling (stimulation of the collagen layer for re-texturizing). A series of appointments is generally required.

Mixto Co2 Fractional Laser

Deeper, more exfoliating laser for the purpose of decreasing wrinkles, brown spots and acne scarring. This technology creates micro thermal damage via multiple microscopic laser beams without causing total ablation of the upper skin layer (epidermis). Surrounding uninjured skin helps with a quicker recover and most patients can return to work or social engagements within a week. Candidates for this procedure include those with difficult fine lines around the mouth and eyes or those desiring overall skin tightening through collagen remodeling.

Scelerotherapy (Spider Vein Injections)

If you have been plagued with unsightly spider veins because of genetic predisposition, childbearing or job related stress on the lower limbs, you may be a candidate for this procedure. Your sclerotherapist will inject a small amount of hypertonic saline solution into the offending vessel and you will be required to wear compression for approximately 2-3 days.

Facial “Fillers"

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers…Restylane/Perlane/Juvederm Ultra/Juvederm Ultra Plus-These sugar based fillers made of hyaluronic acid are longer lasting than the older collagen product and are used for filling deep lines around the mouth, lower eyelids, and/or various other depressions of the facial structure. The longevity of this product varies but can be up to 1 year.

Botox/ Dysport

Botulinum toxin is used to “relax” muscles in the face that cause fine lines. Areas to treat include the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes.

All fees for medical procedures are available upon request.
