Hobbies/Interests: Running, yoga, playing outside, plotting great adventures
What I Like About the Program: Everyone involved in the residency program has, at some point, gone out of their way to show their own unique brand of kindness to the people around them, whether it's taking the time to explain the theoretical basis of a procedure, holding an elevator door or the invitation to have a drink (or go for a run) after a overwhelming day.  There is a certain thoughtfulness that makes coming to work remarkably enjoyable.  Also I love the patient population.  There's never a dull moment.

What I Like About the Program: The thing that drew me the most to this program was the camaraderie that I felt between the faculty, residents and staff (that was the selling point for me).  Awesome co-residents!!  On top of that, this program certainly is the best in the region and the hospital is a referral center which leads us to take care of a lot of high-risk patients.  SNGH was ranked the number 1 hosipital in Virginia for the last two years.  The program houses some of the most renowned OB/GYN physicians in the United States and I am sure that I will get a great education here.  The program sets a great path for fellowship as well and has a good track record of allowing its residents to match into many of the sub-specialities.
