As the region’s first Magnet Hospital, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a 525-bed tertiary care facility, is home to the area's only Level I Trauma Center, burn trauma unit and nationally ranked heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital. In addition to a first rate heart program, the hospital is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several dedicated facilities and specialized services.
SNGH is the main training site for the EVMS pulmonary and critical care fellowship. In this hospital, the fellows will rotate in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, the Surgical Intensive Care unit, the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, the Inpatient Pulmonary Consult service and many electives. SNGH has strong endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy programs.

Trainees will have their Lung transplant rotation at this facility.
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility that has a long history of commitment to the community, offering specialized, tertiary services. It is the region’s only Level III Trauma Center and home to the Sentara Heart Center. Fellows will rotate at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital with the region’s only fellowship-trained interventional pulmonologists.
In order to broaden their experience, fellows in the EVMS Pulmonary and Critical Care Program will have the opportunity to work in several different outpatient locations within the Eastern Virginia Medical Center. Fellows will gain valuable experience by working in the region’s only cystic fibrosis center, which is located in the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters . During outpatient rotations, fellows will work in the pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary transplant specialty clinics, located in the Sentara Heart Hospital. The fellows’ continuity clinics are conducted at the EVMS pulmonary clinic. This occurs weekly for all fellows not rotating in the ICU.
