    • Ramin Tolouian, MD, FASN currently is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

       

      Dr. Tolouian received his medical degree from Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, followed by his internal medicine residency.  He completed his renal transplant fellowship at Western General Hospital located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.  Dr. Tolouian served his second nephrology fellowship at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran.  In the United States, he completed his internal medicine residency at Yale School of Medicine/Griffin Hospital located in Derby, Conn.  Dr. Tolouian served his nephrology fellowship for the third time at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.  He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for internal medicine and nephrology.  Dr. Tolouian is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and a member of the National Kidney Foundation and the American Nephrology Council.

       

      Dr. Tolouian is a principal investigator or co-investigator in several key clinical trials, as well as an invited presenter or lecturer at numerous medical conferences.  As author or co-author, his work has been published in many leading medical journals. His research interest is in the field of vascular calcification and diabetic nephropathy.
