Elizabeth Cochran-Ward, MBBS
Elizabeth Cochran Ward grew up in a military family and lived everywhere from Georgia to Germany, but her family has lived in Virginia for the last 20 years. She started down the indirect path to medicine with a double major in Biology and Film Studies at the College of William and Mary. She then moved to Australia to study swimming ants through a masters in Zoology and Tropical Ecology. After meeting her now husband she stayed in Australia to finally study medicine at the University of Sydney. She has an interest in medical research and has published papers on a variety of topics, from teaching medical students in the Emergency Department setting to the effects of smoking on developing Lou Gerig's disease. In her free time, when she has some, she enjoys spending time outdoors, watching movies, from Arthouse to Adam Sandler, and spending time with her husband, border collie and brand new baby. After residency she plans on doing clinic based medicine with a side of hospital and academic medicine.
