Hobbies/Interests: Lipstick and nail polish but don't let that fool you because she also enjoys cooking, scary movies, DIY projects, and various outdoor activities

Future Goals: Has a particular interest in preventative medicine and working with medically under-served populations.

 

 

Erica Formato, M.D.

Why Ghent Family Medicine? The excellence in teaching she received as a student, and the opportunity to work with the diverse and challenging population of the Hampton Roads area.

Hobbies/Interests: Reading science fiction, movies, music, playing on the piano (terribly now due to years of neglect!), biking, jogging, outdoor activities, and trying to keep up with a rowdy bull terrier named Nikki.

Future Goals: Practicing in a small town or rural setting.

Future Goals: Has interest in sports and community medicine with an emphasis on preventative and proactive care at all stages of life; plans to open a family practice alongside her husband who is a chiropractor focusing on sports medicine and acute care.

Future Goals: Has a heart for rural medicine and overseas missions and has plans to open her own clinic upon graduation from residency.

Future Goals: Has special interests in Trauma Informed Care and Women’s Health; after graduation, she hopes to work with underserved populations in a Federally Qualified Health Center and continue her efforts with community outreach.

Future Goals: Plans to start an integrated medicine practice to provide holistic care to people, especially those patients with chronic diseases.
