Career Advising

Medical students can use the AAMC Careers in Medicine Web site for information and tools to aid them in their career decisions. For career advising in other EVMS programs, students should contact their program personnel directly.

Specific additional information for each of the four years of undergraduate medical education is posted to the EVMS Blackboard site, in a course titled “Career Advising.” Additional programs and seminars targeted to individual class years are offered throughout the academic year. Sample topics in the Blackboard course include:

  • Noontime Series with Residency Directors
  • Primer to the Match
  • Specialty Selection
  • Away Rotations
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Personal Statements
  • Writing your CV
  • USMLE tips
  • NRMP Overview
  • Rank Order Lists
