Congratulations to the EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center for the August 9 front-page Virginian-Pilot article and the August 4 report on WVEC-TV regarding its research examining the link between belly fat and diabetes/heart disease.

The news stories feature Jerry Nadler, MD, chair of internal medicine and director of the Strelitz Diabetes Center; Anca Dobrian, PhD, assistant professor of physiological sciences and lead author of the study; and Stephen Wohlgemuth, MD, assistant professor of clinical surgery at EVMS and medical director at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's Metabolic & Weight-Loss Surgery Center.
