Elizabeth Carr Comeau, the first person born in the U.S. through in-vitro fertilization, gave birth yesterday to a healthy baby boy.
The birth of Mrs. Comeau nearly 30 years ago was made possible through Eastern Virginia Medical School doctors Howard and Georgeanna Jones who performed the country's first successful in vitro fertilization procedure at their clinic, The Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine, the first IVF center in the country.
