Mark C. Flemmer, MB.Ch.B., associate professor of internal medicine, will receive the award at the ACP Associates meeting Jan. 23 in Norfolk. "This award is a great honor and credit to your dedication to education and a recognition by your students and peers," said Paul Florentino, MD, lieutenant governor of the ACP's Virginia chapter.
With a concentration in general internal medicine, Dr. Flemmer sees patients and also is actively involved in teaching medical students and medical residents. He joined the EVMS faculty in 1993. "We are very fortunate to have Dr. Flemmer at EVMS," said Jerry Nadler, MD, Mansbach professor and chair of internal medicine. "This is a tremendous honor for Dr Flemmer and reflects well on the residency program, the general medicine division and EVMS." Thomas Manser, MD, associate professor of internal medicine and divison chief for general internal medicine, said he was delighted but "not surprised" that Dr. Flemmer received the prestigious award. "When it comes to student and resident teaching," Dr. Manser said, "he is a true superstar." |
