The EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center provides education,
in-patient and outpatient care, and research
focused on minimizing complications of
diabetes and finding a cure.
Our researchers are investigating
genes and protein products that will cause pancreatic islet cells to grow and make insulin
and conducts research on reversing complications of diabetes, such as neuropathy.
In our clinical offices, scientific
advances are translated into patient care and patients are provided with individual
long-term treatment plans.
The education
component provides support
and information on diabetes to the community. |
