Residency Program
The Dermatology residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical
School is an accredited three-year program leading to eligibility for
certification by the American Board of Dermatology. Established in
2002, the goal of the residency program is to produce excellent clinical

Pediatric Dermatology Clinic and working with Dermatologists who have
extensive training and experience in Surgical Dermatology.

The educational program includes the following:
- weekly dermatopathology textbook review and unknown slide
conference
- Monday noon clinical conference
- clinical dermatology textbook review
- bimonthly Grand Rounds

- monthly pediatric and procedural dermatology didactic session
Residents attend many regional and national dermatology society meetings
throughout the year, the Indiana University Cutaneous Basic Science
Conference, the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology,
the Southeastern Education Consortium of Dermatology, and the biannual Combined
Eastern Virginia Medical School/Virginia Commonwealth University
