Tidewater Center for Life Support Training

The Tidewater Center for Life Support is a training department within EVMS that provides a variety of both CPR and advanced courses to residents, staff and the general public.

Our courses are specially designed for both the professional rescuer, as well as the first-time student.       



We feature American Heart Association:

Basic Life Support: CPR, First Aid, for the general public and  BLS Providers for those who serve as healthcare professionals.


*Course materials are provided during the class. We offer text books and masks before, during and after class.

In addition to our regularly scheduled CPR/AED and first aid courses for the community/lay rescuer/general public,  and BLS Provider courses we are available to conduct workplace training to meet your training needs and schedule. Please call for off site pricing.

We also offer Family and Friends CPR training, disease prevention and transmission, and a variety of other health and safety courses. These course can be tailored to fit the needs of your staff.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training: EKG Course, ACLS Provider, & ACLS Renewal. Register for ACLS classes.


Pediatric Advanced Life Support Training: PALS Provider and PALS Renewal. Register for PALS Classes. 


Certification cards are given upon completion of any American Heart Association course.
