Medically Inspired Adventures (MIA)

Medically Inspired Adventures (MIA)

Medically Inspired Adventures provides high school students with hands-on experience with cadavers, specimens, standardized patients as well as opportunities to attend several medically themed lectures. The program is geared towards students with limited educational resources in order to provide them the opportunity to experience alternative educational and career experiences than they would not normally have access to. The program intends to get students thinking about pursuing a career in health care and to motivate students to continue their education through college and/or graduate school. By exposing visiting students to medical education and practice through multiple themed visits, the students are able to leave with a greater appreciate and understanding for the field of medicine.
