Every Woman's Life

Every Woman's Life provides free mammograms, pelvic exams, breast and cervical screening exams and pap screens to uninsured women who qualify according to program guidelines. Access to these screening exams and services offers early detection, improves treatment options, and greatly increases survival rates. The goal of Every Woman's Life is to increase awareness through early detection and intervention. The program works with EVMS residents from Internal Medicine and EVMS attending physicians and surgeons. They receive referrals from the health departments, hospitals, community health centers, private offices, and the HOPES clinic. EWL also offers the Wise Woman program which provides high blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose screenings. It encourages women to become more physically active, eat healthier foods, and stop smoking. To be eligible for the Every Woman's Life Program, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Norfolk or Portsmouth, be uninsured, and meet age and income requirements.
