MEGA Health Care Sites
  • American Medical Association - Includes a CME locator, physician directory, JAMA, etc.
  • CenterWatch - Clinical Trials and newly approved drugs.
  • Medical Matrix - Comprehensive site that incorporates The Medical List (formerly Hancock’s List, which was one of the first comprehensive lists of Internet sites in healthcare.) It contains a large list of medical journals. Registration is required, but it is free.
  • National Institutes of Health - Access to a broad range of sources
  • National Library of Medicine - Free Medline searching, mega library services, and research programs.
  • OncoLink - Disease information, psychosocial support, clinical trial information, many resources.
  • Parkhurst Online - Listings of medical conferences, frequently asked questions, Dr.’s reviews
  • PharmWeb - Pharmaceutical information for patients and health care professionals. Includes discussion group.
  • PubMed - The National Library of Medicine's search service that provides access to over 11 million citations in MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, and other related databases. Available through EVMS website’s Library link.
  • Virtual Hospital - University of Iowa - Sections for patients, healthcare professionals, patient simulations, multimedia textbooks, etc.

  • Medscape - One of the biggest sites with many CME activities for free and others for a cost.
