HIV and AIDS Clinical Training is designed to provide healthcare professionals and other care providers the opportunity to participate in direct clinical care of patients with HIV infection and their families in a variety of care settings. There are two components to the Clinical Training: an Orientation and Overview Course (The Facts) and Module Training in clinical sites.

Orientation and Overview Topics

  • Epidemiology Trends
  • Spectrum of HIV infection
  • Approaches to Managing HIV/AIDS
  • Psychosocial Needs and Issues
  • Patient and Family Education and Community Resources

  • The Fundamentals - Prevention Counseling
  • Medication Adherence
  • Mental Health - topics vary
  • Nutritional Assessments
  • Outreach and Case Management Series - topics vary
