The Board of Visitors is the governing body of Eastern Virginia Medical School. Eleven of the 17 members of the Board of Visitors are appointed by the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. The remaining six members are appointed by the EVMS Foundation Board of Trustees.

Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held in the Burroughs Board Room, fifth floor of Fairfax Hall. If you have questions about a meeting location, please call the Office of the President, (757) 446-5200.

There will be a meeting to discuss Strategic Planning at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009, in the Burroughs Board Room, fifth floor of Fairfax Hall.

The EVMS Board of Visitors meets at 4 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, as follows:

The Academic Affairs Committee meets at 4 p.m., as follows:

The Audit and Compliance Committee meets when necessary in September/October, January, April and July.

The Executive Committee meets when necessary.

The Facilities Committee meets when necessary.

The Finance Committee meets at 4:00 p.m., as follows:

The Honorary Degrees Committee meets when necessary.

The Joint Conference Committee meets at twice annually in May/June and November/December.

Strategic Planning and External Affairs Committee. Meeting dates will be set in the spring of 2009 after the SCHEV process is concluded or called as needed.

The Trusteeship Committee meets when necessary.
