Adding Entries to Personal Address Book
By default, you are provided with a Global Address List
that contains all e-mail addresses for EVMS. You can create your own Personal Address Book
to store personal distribution lists that group names by a designated category; e.g., the
volleyball team. You can also add an address from a Public Folder to your Personal Address
Book. (To have address entries shown with the last name first, click on Tools on the
Outlook Menu Bar, then Services, then Personal Address Book, then PropertiesClick on
radio button next to "Show Names by Last Name.") You can add entries to your own
Personal Address Book by following the steps listed below:
- Click on Tools on the Menu Bar. Click on Address Book. You
should see a screen similar to the following illustration:

- Click on the drop-down arrow next to box containing the
words "Global Address List." Scroll until you see Personal Address Book. Select
Personal Address Book
- Click on the New Entry button on the toolbar (top left
corner; looks like a rolodex card.) You should see a screen similar to the following:

- Choose Internet Address and OK. You should see a screen
similar to the following:

- Fill in the name of the person under Display Name.
Suggestion: Last Name, First Name so that names will be alphabetized by last name. Type in
the persons e-mail address. You can also click on the Business tab, Phone Numbers
tab, and/or Notes tab to add additional information about the person. When finished, click
on OK.
- Keep adding names by following Steps 3-5.
Viewing
Details About Entry
To see detailed information about someone in your
Personal Address Book, double click on the persons name. You can then view or change
information about that person.
Deleting
Entry
To remove someone from your Personal Address Book,
highlight the name and click on the Delete Button on the Toolbar or use the Delete key on
your keyboard.
Adding
Sender of Message to Personal Address Book
To add a person who sends you e-mail to your
Personal Address Book, complete the following steps:
Open the message that was sent to you.
Highlight the person's name on the From
line.
Right click on the highlighted name.
Choose Add to Personal Address Book.
