 Outlook:
General Information - Inbox
The following is an illustration of the Outlook Screen
when the Inbox button has been selected. The Inbox is used to read and send e-mail.

General Notes:
- On the left side under "Inbox,", there are three
sections: Mailbox, Personal Folders, and Public Folders.
- Mailbox: All this information is stored
on the server. Your e-mail is sent to this location.
- Personal Folders: All this information is
stored on your hard disk. You can copy/move e-mail to personal folders.
- Public Folders:
These are stored on server. They are used by ACC staff to
post information for everyone to access.
- The right side of screen shows e-mail received.
- A closed
envelope indicates unread messages. Also, the number of unread messages
appears in parentheses
under the Inbox on the far left of the screen and behind the word Inbox under the
Mailbox section.
- Read messages are indicated by an open envelope.
- A paper clip indicates
there is an attachment to the e-mail.
- An exclamation mark indicates this is an urgent
message.
- To see what other symbols mean: click on Help on the menu bar;
choose Contents and Index; click on the Index tab; type
in Symbols; double click on Symbols, Outlook; and then double click on Symbols
in Inbox.
By default, if a message is unread, you will see up to
three lines of the message. If you wish to save space on the right hand side of your
screen where the messages are displayed, simply click the Auto Preview button to turn off
this feature.
To read your e-mail, double click on the
message on the right side of the screen.
- To change to the Calendar, Journal, Outbox, etc., click on
the appropriate icon on the left side of the screen. However, note that the icon
highlighted in the middle column is under your mailbox. Don't forget that this data is
stored on the server. If you wish to save a calendar entry on your hard disk, click on
Calendar under Personal Folders in the middle section.
