Assistant Vice President, Development
Connie McKenzie, CFRE, is Assistant Vice President of EVMS Development. Her position guides relationships with individuals, foundations and corporations capable of gifts to EVMS.
Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Director of Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation and Chapter President for the Central Virginia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She earned the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2004.
Early in her career, Ms. McKenzie applied her master’s in social work background to raise funds for various human-services programs. Her first experience was in homeless services in Richmond where she formed her fund development skills.
Ms. McKenzie is a past president of the Board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals–Hampton Roads (AFP-HR) and has held various roles for AFP-HR. She also is a former board member for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and co-chair for the Race for the Cure. She is the current president for the Junior League Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Inc.
