Assistant Professor- Pathology
The Department of Pathology and Anatomy at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia seeks qualified applicants for a full time salaried faculty position at the Instructor or Assistant professor level based on qualifications.
Eastern Virginia Medical School is located in the West Ghent area of Norfolk on an impressive and growing campus with access to a state of the art simulation center, world class hospitals, and newly renovated educational facilities. This community based medical and health professions school provides ample opportunities for career growth for a young professional interested in developing their career as a medical educator with a clinical anatomy and surgical training center, medical and paramedical programs and a small plastination lab. The successful candidate will join a collegial department and contribute to educational activities including participation in team-taught Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy courses as well as Medical Masters and graduate level courses. Though the salary is not dependent on extramural research funding there are many opportunities for basic science collaborations or clinical and translational research as well as for educational research. Applicants for the Instructor level should have a Master’s degree and experience with dissection and teaching while the person applying for the Assistant professor level should have their doctoral degree (MD or PhD) and some teaching experience related to anatomical sciences. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in medical education that enhances departmental programs. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
