diabetes, cardiovascular disease
March 21, 2008
NORFOLK—An overflow crowd turned out
March 19 to hear physician-scientist Jerry Nadler, M.D., talk about the link
between diabetes and cardiovascular disease at the 2008 Harry H. Mansbach
Endowed Lecture. A nationally renowned expert in diabetes and the cardiovascular
complications of diabetes, Nadler will join the EVMS faculty on July 1 to serve
as Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. He will also hold the Harry H.
Mansbach Endowed Chair in Internal Medicine, an academic honor named for one of
the founders of EVMS.

The
children of Harry Mansbach started the lecture to honor their father.
Listening in at this year's lecture are, from left, Dr. Charles Mansbach, (who
gave the Mansbach lecture in 2007), his wife, May Lynn, Tom Mansbach, and Sally
Mansbach Herman. |

Tom Mansbach, Sally Mansbach Herman and
her husband Steve Herman take in Dr. Nadler's presentation. |

An overflow crowd of faculty, students,
residents, staff and friends of the school turned out to hear Dr. Nadler speak. |
