14th Annual Cookout for
the Cure May 22

NORFOLK, VA — The Hampton Roads Shipping Association and the
International Longshoremen’s Association will host the 14th Annual
“Cookout for the Cure” at Fleet Recreation Park at Naval Station Norfolk
Thursday, May 22, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event raises money for the Diabetes Center Foundation, which
supports the Strelitz Diabetes
Center of Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Each year, the “Cookout for the Cure” features barbecue grilled by
competing teams from organizations throughout Hampton Roads, as well as
musical entertainment and children’s activities. Specialties include
deep-fried turkeys, pulled pork, fried fish and chicken. All food and
beverages are included in the cost of a ticket. Parking is free.
