February 20, 2006 EVMS students enjoy the pizza  NORFOLK—California Pizza Kitchen donated $4,523.53, proceeds from its pizza sales Jan. 31 at their MacArthur Center location, to the EVMS Center for Pediatric Research (CPR). “It’s wonderful,” said Cynthia Kelly, M.D., CPR director of research and vice-chair of research in the EVMS department of pediatrics. “We appreciate the commitment of California Pizza Kitchen to pediatric research in the community.” California Pizza Kitchen, launched in Beverly Hills in 1985, offers unique items like Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza. It has since expanded to 180 outlets, including one that opened in August 2003 at Virginia Beach’s Towne Center.
